Another new addition to the JRP Edge 52mm range is our 12v single voltmeter gauge, these gauges will allow you to monitor the voltage of either your primary or secondary battery systems depending on which you choose to connect them to. They also allow you to set a warning if the voltage levels drop below your desired levels. These little voltmeter gauges will be quite popular for our Diesel 4x4 customer base as well, especially for those that are running our Edge 2in1 Boost + EGT gauges already or are looking at running them. Reason being is the Edge Dual Boost + EGT gauges already monitor your primary battery source and they have the ability to set a warning for it, so you could purchase one of these single dedicated volt meter gauges to connect up to your secondary battery source, and have both sources covered.
To use these 12v voltmeter gauges to monitor a second battery system, you would connect the constant +12v power & ground to your 2nd battery system, and then run the IGN +12v off your primary battery source. This way the gauge will turn on when you start your car, but it will monitor the volts from your 2nd battery from the constant +12v you have connected to it. Note we have found for this to work, both the primary and secondary battery systems must share a common ground, and it’s also to be noted that wired this way this gauge will draw its power from the 2nd battery source, so just something to keep in mind.
These volt gauges are designed for 12v systems, so they have a readout range of 8v to 18v, we do have plans for a 24v gauge and also will be looking at doing a dual volts gauge in this style, but as above for now, anyone that is running or plan on running our Edge 2in1 Boost + EGT gauge, using one of these gauges on the secondary system to monitor your 2nd battery systems voltage levels is a pretty good way to achieve a dual volts monitoring setup running our gauges. For those that haven’t bought any gauges from us as yet, our multi gauge systems come equipped with dual volts, so they are worth a look if you are still trying to decide between a 52mm gauge setup, or if you would be open to an all in one gauge setup the multi gauge is worth a look.
